Ceslie Burton- Bio

I grew up in a rodeo family riding since I could walk. I am almost 32 yrs old with 3yr old twins. That will slow your rodeo career down!! I started youth rodeos around the age of 4. There were no peewee's back then and it was tough.

In the YRA I ran in the 15 & under. By the time I was 9 they finally started having the younger age groups and I won my first saddle. When I was in Junior High, I bought my WPRA permit. Back then you didnt have to be 18. My most memorable moment was placing 4th in a round at the Austin,TX pro rodeo and hearing my name on the radio, for a while I was winning the round. I thought I was something, I had alot to learn. I won tons of saddles, buckles, and several trailers growing up. Thanks to my parents, I was blessed with really good horses.

I learned that a good horse shoer and vet can make all the difference in the world. In college, I started shoeing my own horses and still do to this day. I didnt have a lot of money and I wanted to continue doing what I loved, so I figured out I needed to work harder and be smarter in order to be successful. I dont get to haul very far from home now that I have kids, but I continue to train and run at local rodeos and barrel races.

My goal for the future is to train and sell high quality barrel horses at an affordable price. I got into this business because I have a passion for it and I love the competition, not just for the money. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing a horse you have trained win and make someone else happy... seems to make all the hard work and frustration pay off.
